A psychologist who understands both the clinical side and the school side.
I’m Dr. Marielle Mathews, a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist serving children, adolescents, and young adults.
With over 20 years of experience working in schools, along with advanced clinical training, I bring a unique perspective to both therapy and evaluations.
I do not just look at symptoms. I look at how those challenges show up in real classrooms, real expectations, and real daily life.
My goal is simple: to help you understand what is going on and what to do next.

What makes my work different:
I am one of the few providers who has spent decades working inside school systems while also providing therapy and evaluations.
Many psychologists who provide evaluations have never worked in a school setting.
Many therapists do not have experience navigating how school systems function.
Because children spend most of their day at school, challenges often show up there first.
I work to bridge the gap between school and outpatient care so recommendations are realistic, meaningful, and actually usable in everyday life.
I provide a non-judgmental space where clients can process thoughts, fears, and experiences openly.
I am not afraid to sit with someone in their hardest moments.
Together, we:
-

Understand patterns and thoughts in behavior
-

Build tools to manage anxiety
-

Increase tolerance for discomfort
-

Focus on strengths that may have been overlooked
Your struggle is safe here.
Many clients come in feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or unsure of themselves.
A big part of my work is helping them feel seen and understood.
Clients often feel safe because:
I consistently point out their strengths
I approach each situation without judgment
I take time to truly understand their experience
I work collaboratively rather than telling them what to do
By the time many people come to therapy, they have lost sight of what they are capable of.
Part of our work is helping them reconnect with that.
A little more about me
My work is deeply personal to me.
I have experienced my own challenges and growth through therapy, which has shaped how I show up for my clients.
I have walked through difficult life experiences, including the loss of a close friend and my own health challenges.
Those experiences have given me a deeper understanding of what it means to sit with uncertainty, grief, and fear.
They also allow me to meet clients with both clinical expertise and genuine empathy.
What it feels like to work together:
For parents, it often feels like relief.
Relief in understanding what is going on and knowing how to move forward.
Through therapy or evaluation, clients often experience:
A clearer understanding of themselves or their child
A direct and supported path forward
Tools to manage anxiety and emotional challenges
Increased confidence in school and daily life
My goal is always to provide clarity, direction, and support that lasts beyond our time working together.
